About us

At Harms and Humans, we believe that protecting your family from hidden dangers should be science-based, comprehensive, fast, and stress-free. That’s why we offer high-speed, non-destructive heavy metals testing using advanced handheld X-ray fluorescence (XRF) technology — the same trusted by government agencies like Health Canada.

We are Certified XRF Operators, trained and licensed under the Natural Resources Canada (NRCAN) National Non-Destructive Testing Certification Body (NDTCB), in compliance with Health Canada’s Safety Code 32 and ISO 20807 standards. Our technology is safe, precise, and provides on-the-spot results — without damaging your belongings.

Unlike many in the field, we care deeply about your mental and financial well-being. Heavy metal testing shouldn’t create more stress or uncertainty. That’s why we go beyond basic scanning by offering:

  • Post-processing of raw data using advanced AI and statistical tools to minimize false positives
  • Clear, intuitive reports with key highlights from the latest heavy metals regulations
  • Personalized remediation strategies designed to keep you both safe and within budget

But we’re more than just a testing service — we’re a family on a mission.

Harms and Humans is a family-owned business born from personal experience and a strong desire to make a difference.

Sofia is a concerned mom, Ph.D., and business visionary with a background in regulatory policy, mathematics, and digital innovation. She leads our operations with a strong customer-first mindset and believes that science-based testing should be as accessible and routine as a visit to the dentist.

Vladimir, with an M.Sc. in particle physics and a background in materials science and AI, brings deep technical expertise and a passion for using modern technology to make complex problems simple and solvable.

And then there’s Veronika, our little sunshine — and the heart of our story. Her early exposure to heavy metals was the wake-up call that launched our journey and inspired everything we do.

At Harms and Humans, we combine science, compassion, and hands-on solutions to help you uncover invisible threats and take control of your environment — one item at a time.
